BUGJAM 2008

This year there was an old familiar feeling in the air as the BugJam Classic came home to Larry's Off Road Center, where it originally began nearly 30 years ago, celebrated in grand style with a giant VW block party. If you missed this year, don't worry...next year's date is 

September 12, 2009.   

Best of Show- Shane Walcutt also won Best Engine, Best Interior, and Best Paint! Congrats Shane! Look at that sweet car!

Larry and I, Marty, want to thank our parents for the love & support given to us. We want to thank our children and significant others for putting up with us. And we wish to thank our brother, Ron, for all he does to support our business and the VW hobby. And of course, all of our dear friends we have made thru our love of v-dubs! Nothing would be possible without all of you!

When Larry's Off Road Center started 31 years ago, Marty and Larry never dreamed that they would still be doing what they love 31 years later. BUGJAM started as a gathering at Larry's Off Road and then, as the show grew, it moved to several different places. They decided this year to bring it back home to where it began. They closed down the street and opened up the shop for one whole day. 

The turn-out was amazing; hundreds of people and over 60 Volkswagen projects attended the show. The whole street in front of the shop and even down the road was covered with Volkswagens. Some people came dressed like hippies ready to relive the old days. The children enjoyed watching Herbie in the theater created by Larry's staff. The whole crowd participated in painting Larry's bus, by the end of the day it was decorated with pictures, names, and tributes to the soldiers and loved ones.

Thank you so much to all who made BUGJAM 2008 such an amazing show. Thank you for sticking behind Larry's Off Road Center for all of these years and for allowing us to keep doing what we love.

 To the left are pictures of Dan Bosenberg's "Taz" Buggy. Dan came up with a game for BugJam where he place a whole bunch of "Taz" items (stuffed animals, key chains, etc) and had people guess how many there were.
